Sitting proudly in pride of place, this beautiful, bright red, old cut, Ruby gemstone, is claw set in buttery yellow gold, and is flanked by two old cut diamonds, one diamond is an old rose cut, and the other is slightly different, so could possibly have been replaced at a later date, but not too noticeable, so nothing to worry about. Either side of the old cut diamonds, are two further rubies, which completes the picture, on this original, antique, Victorian, gold ring. I have to say, I have described the rubies as red, but actually they are more dark pink, which in my opinion makes them even more desirable.
Ruby is the July birthstone, and is often bought as a celebration for a 40th wedding anniversary. The colour represents love and passion. In ancient India, the Ruby was called “king of precious stones” for its rarity, hardness and seemingly mystical powers.
